After the four of us spent over an hour bagging up all of the leaves in our backyard last Saturday more leaves accumulated to blanket the entire yard again (top picture). By Tuesday the entire yard had a nice new carpet of leaves . Sadly, it looks like there are plenty more to follow (middle picture). (bottom picture: well, he is just too cute not to be included)
Now time for the lemonade (as in "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade."): Austin, Nate, and their friend Sam have gone out with rakes and bags the past three days to see if anyone would like to hire them. In three days, and only about 5 hours of labor total, they earned $80. That is a little more than $25 dollars each or $5 per hour. Not bad. They were even told to come back tomorrow for one of the jobs. With most of the trees around here still holding onto at least half of their foliage, they may be millionaires yet.... Of course they still need to pay their manager (me) for giving them the idea, and their supplier of bags (Lisa). Maybe they will have some money left for themselves. ; )
